Shopmobility Coordinator

Job Vacancy – Shopmobility Coordinator

6.5 hours per week (Saturdays) plus additional hours may be available

£8.19 per hour (£53.24 per week) – under review

Community First provides a Shopmobility Service, hiring out mobility scooters and wheelchairs in Chichester from a high quality mobile unit in a Chichester City Centre car park. It is a service that enables independence and life enjoyment for people whose lives are challenged by disabilities and mobility problems, often but not always as a result of older age.  People use our scooters at home and in the City for leisure purposes as well as shopping.

We are looking for a dynamic, creative person  who loves working  with people, has practical skills and is able to drive a 7.5 ton specialist vehicle  (no HGV license is required) to work on a Saturday for 6.5 hours every week as part of our Shopmobility Coordinator team. Additional hours and days will also be required including at our Goodwood Motor Sports events where we also hire out our scooters.

You will have experience of working with people with disabilities in communities and/or driving Community Transport minibuses and will work within a small team of experienced staff and volunteers.

Community Transport Driver - Winchester and Bordon

Community First, is seeking to recruit part time Community Transport Drivers for our Transport teams based in Bordon and in Winchester.  16 – 20 hours per week to cover various contracts, including school contracts, more hours may be available by negotiation.

Competitive salary of £8.30ph and benefits.  Training given to successful applicants. Applicants must have the following:

  • Full Driving Licence with D1 category code
  • For insurance purposes be over 25 years of age
  • Willingness to be flexible to work across Winchester, Basingstoke and East Hampshire

Qualified Tutor/Trainers (Self-employed)

Community First is seeking a range of tutors to join our expanding bank of trainers who have a desire to utilise their skills working with a range of voluntary groups across Hampshire. Community First Training works across Havant, East Hants and Winchester district but works with groups on a 1:1 basis in other areas. Engagement would be on a self employed basis, working hours are as required, and according to the need as agreed. Paid on an hourly rate appropriate to level of skill, experience and teaching qualification.

Coordinators for Day Opportunities for Older People

Community First provides  a modern service for people aged 55 and over called Silver Linings, based at our Hewitt’s Wellbeing Centre in Emsworth, close to the harbour where we also provide quality café services for older people provided by young adults with learning disabilities.

 

Community First are passionate about making a difference to people’s lives as they grow older enabling people to live a full life within their local communities.

 

You may have seen us on Meridian TV as a result of winning a Big Lottery Peoples Project grant this year.

 

We are looking for dynamic, creative people who are passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of older people and their carers.

 

Sliver Linings offers clients a modern service that includes creative and fun group activities.

 

This is sessional work that can be offered flexibly, working within a small team of Coordinators and volunteers. You will have experience of working with older people and people with multiple long term conditions to support and enable clients to maintain their independence. Most importantly, you will need to be as passionate about making a difference to the quality of people’s lives, be kind, resourceful, an independent worker and be able to think on your feet. You will be a creative person able to organise, coordinate and market the service and play a vital part in driving forward a new exciting era for Hewitts.
