Black Minority Ethnic Engagement

This project has been running since April 2006 and is aimed at black and minority ethnic groups, including faith groups, gypsies and travellers and migrant workers who live in the Winchester District.
The aim of the project is to increase empowerment and social inclusion by identifying, engaging with and supporting black and minority ethnic communities across the District.
The project steering group comprises representatives from the following organisations:
 - WACA
 - Winchester City Council
 - Winchester Muslim & Cultural Association
 - Mental Health, Hampshire Partnership Trust
 - A2 Winchester
 - Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service
 - Winchester Police
 - HCC
 - The University of Winchester

BME Forum
An electronic BME forum has been running since February 2006 and now has over 40 members. The aim of the forum is to share information about BME events, training, conferences or job vacancies and provides a good networking opportunity.
