The BME Engagement Steering Group was established in April 2006 to engage with black and minority ethnic groups, including faith groups, gypsies and travellers and migrant workers who live in the Winchester District. The aim of the project is to increase empowerment and social inclusion by identifying, engaging with and supporting black and minority ethnic communities across the District. The project steering group comprises representatives from the following organisations:
WACA A2 Dominion Winchester Discovery Centre Winchester City Council Winchester Muslim & Cultural Association Winchester & Eastleigh Healthcare NHS Trust Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service University of Winchester Hampshire County Council Hampshire Constabulary

BME E.Forum An electronic BME forum has been running since February 2006 and now has over 60 members. The aim of the forum is to share information about BME events, training, conferences or job vacancies and provides a good networking opportunity.
